Project Overview

5 East 22nd Street in Manhattan (10010) is a combined roofing and facade restoration that Altius CM completed on 30 suspended scaffolds.

Facade

Deteriorated shelf angles were replaced and waterproofed, 10,000 LF in all. The entire structure was removed and recaulked, 30,000 LF of sealant and caulk. Masonry work included 20,000 sq ft of pointing and 10,000 custom and L-shape bricks from custom, museum-quality brick fabrication.

Roof

The roof replacement, with metal work, covered 8,500 SF, used vacuum insulated panels, and includes a green roof. The roof carries a 25-year NDL warranty, against a standard of 20. Full roof replacements in NYC can trigger the sustainable roofing zone rules; see our Local Laws 92 and 94 guide.
